Nearly 70,000 attendees visit the first ever event
HOUSTON (February 2, 2022) – For the first time ever the Houston Auto Show and the Houston Boat Show combined events and brought nearly 70,000 land and sea lovers together for a spectacular five-day event. From Jan. 26 to Jan. 30, 2022, attendees to the NRG Center experienced the latest vehicles, boats and outdoor activities for just one ticket.

After realizing the hit the pandemic brought on inventory in both the automobile and boat industries, the two Houston shows teamed-up to build the largest event of its kind.
“We saw the opportunity to bring similar events together, which turned out to be a great fit for both auto, and marine demographics,” said Wyatt Wainwright, President of the Houston Auto Show.
“Combining with the Houston Boat Show created an unprecedented event that turned out to be a huge success.”
From the first day, the events experienced more presale tickets than ever before and opened the doors to long lines of boat and car lovers. The Houston Auto and Boat Show was truly a place for attendees to see and learn about vehicles and boats, some of which are yet to be found at local dealerships.
“We certainly feel like we hit a homerun with this show,” said Boat Show President Kenny Lovell. “Our vendors couldn’t be happier, and the public seemed to embrace this new show concept.”

Dealers reported selling more than 100 boats over the five days and vendors had record sales. On the Auto Show side, where sales is prohibited, about 60 percent of attendees expressed interest in purchasing a new vehicle from a local dealership within the next six months.
“Boat dealers were exceedingly happy with the results and their sales,” added Lovell. “But, more importantly, new relationships were established that will lead to future boaters being welcomed into the outdoor lifestyle.”
Auto Show management agreed that bringing the two attendees together was just the meld of events that was needed.
