Start Your Engines... The Houston Auto Show Turns 30 This Year
HOUSTON (Dec. 10, 2012) – The 2013 Houston Auto Show, Wednesday, Jan. 23 to Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at the Reliant Center, is celebrating its 30th year with the largest display of vehicles in its three decade history. Occupying the entire Reliant Center with over 700,000 square feet of display space, this year’s show features the latest vehicles from the world’s best automakers in a wide variety of styles and price ranges.
For years, the Houston Auto Show, produced by the Houston Automobile Dealers Association, has brought the global automotive world to Texas, allowing consumers to see, touch, drive and experience the auto industry’s latest and greatest offerings all under one roof. Over 35 manufacturers will be on display at this year’s show, including Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Mercedes, Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo, MINI, Nissan and Scion. Plus, the high-end luxury vehicle boutique will return for its second year featuring Lotus, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Porsche.
The Houston Auto Show is ringing in their 30th birthday with a list full of “firsts” including:
- The Houston Auto Show will provide an indoor “Ride & Drive” lounge, in addition to their popular outdoor “Ride & Drive” in the show parking lot. Show attendees will be able to get behind the wheel of over 60 of the latest models at this year’s “Ride & Drives.”
- Texans can experience Camp Jeep's four-wheel drive adventure right on the show floor.
- The Houston Auto Show is hosting the My Plates' Great Plate Auction the evening of January 25 where one lucky Texan will own the first ‘HOUSTON’ license plate.”
“The 2013 Houston Auto Show will be the largest and most interactive show in our 30 year history. All 700,000 sq. ft. of the Reliant Center will be transformed into an ‘Automotive Wonderland.’” said Wyatt Wainwright, President of Houston Automobile Dealers Association.
The Houston Auto Show at the Reliant Center is open daily from Wednesday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 27. Show hours are:
Wed. – Friday: Noon - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
